TRUTH

Truth is rigid. We hear the phrase, “my truth” thrown around these days. But what does that really mean? Does our own truth really stand the test of time? And if it doesn't, where is authentic truth found? Since becoming a potter my perspective has changed on this concept. When I create a piece, let us say a bowl, and someone says “wow, I love this vase” I explain to them as its creator its original intent and purpose was to be a bowl. Is the piece a bowl or a vase? I must argue, the maker gets to decide the truth of what it is, as they made it for a reason and purpose. The bowl does not get to decide what it is. Therefore, the only logical place to look for truth is to our maker. It is black and white *wink wink*.

The description of truth is inspired by John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”.
